It must be spring

May 15, 2011

It is raining inside
It is raining old pain
It is raining new grief
Torrents of peace
Steady beats of joy
It is raining outside.

Lime green sprouts
From unknown chambers
Green tears and blue laughs
Drench every crag
Pool in random crevices
Drain from limbs
Full drops on flat stones
Wetness so complete
Slips off clean leaves
Runs down tree skins
Accepts every move
In sloppy mud
That I make.
Tatters in my garments
Tears in my ligaments
The rain finally forces me to
Stand still in silence to
Hear the next step drip.
